Once again, Ding Yu Xi worked his magic in this series. He is so into it that whenever his character appears, I would see him as a cat himself. His mannerisms, his gait, the way he moves are all how a cat behaves. It is so cute and impressive that I could say kudos to the casting producers, directors and executives for choosing this actor as the lead in this series.
It is also to their credit that the second male lead in this story is none other than Wei Zhe Ming (although some might not consider him as the second male lead). This actor is one of those you somehow know from the first time you see him that he can do wonders in the entertainment industry. He has been catching my attention with each series he came to be a part of.
The actors portraying the rest of the supporting characters are well chosen too, especially Alibaba with his naivety and humble attitude unexpected from that of a prince. Everyone has been effectively contributing to the story and the plot itself is well done- intriguing with just enough pacing to make viewers decide to watch just one more episode each day.
I love the friendship of Li Bing and Qui Qing Zhi. Even during their seeming confrontations from opposing sides, you would get the feeling that they care for each other. Theirs is a relationship from a brotherhood of choice, growing up together cemented their bond, that no matter what, they will always protect each other, albeit sometimes without the other's knowledge. Truth be told, I haven't been touched to tears for sometime now after watching so many series. These two guys made me a cry baby again.
White Cat Legend reminds me not to be judgmental for not everything you see is the absolute truth. It also strengthened my belief in the innate goodness of people and that no matter the wrong choices we make at times, there is always a chance at redemption. People's greed and desire for immortality may sometimes cause suffering to the world but it is during chaotic times that you will discover the people who can really be relied upon. Great friendships are forged and strong characters developed.
I just do not like an ending that has to take out a major character just to make an impact, especially one who truly deserves a happy ending. I won't divulge here who that is so you need to watch this series until the end. Make sure to include this in your must watch list.
