THE ROMANCE OF TIGER AND ROSE

What can I say? Even before the final episode, I found another male lead to watch out for. Ding Yuxi is simply adorable in this series. His face is really not as handsome as Yang Yang or Dylan Wang but he has this x-factor that would make one stare at him in anticipation for what he would do and he simply did not disappoint. Needless to say, I found myself looking for his other projects and putting them on my list of series to watch next.

The reason I actually started watching this relatively short series (compared to most historical Chinese dramas) is because of the female lead Zhao Lu Si. This girl is the epitome of cute without being OA, or worse boring. She can bring any character to life with grace and aplomb. One of my close friends and her avid fan once said and I agree, Zhao Lusi is the queen of chemistry. She makes pairing with any male lead effortless. Simply put, she is made to work onscreen and make things relatable to viewers.

The story itself is actually nothing new or unique. However, it brings home the fact that having experienced something yourself will bring credibility to your claims, or in this case, her writing. Our female lead, a screenwriter in character here, has been given the chance to experience true love in order for her to be able to write about it with depth, clarity and substance. The twist is that she has to experience it within her own written story.

The most important values for me are incorporated in this story. Filial piety, integrity, loyalty and great friendships. I also like the fact that in one state, females became heroines and in fact, the rulers of that nation. Another nation is doing the opposite, and our lovebirds actually found the ideal balance between the two.

How they are going to do that is for you to find out. Make time to watch this series and you will realize that ambition is good, if for the right reason. Purpose is essential for the good of the person or persons affected. It is always good to cooperate and collaborate and to share natural resources for the good of all.

Lastly, believe me when I say, you have to watch this Ding Yuxi. He might be kinda late in joining show business, but with his acting capabilities, he has every right to remain in the industry. Kudos to you and Zhao Lu Si!
