THE LEGEND OF SHEN LI

For me, this is the ultimate story about Gods and Immortals and how they fare in love and war. Assuming there is a grain of truth in this series, it feels good to know that just like mortals, these beings navigate love in all its complexities and do fall into the trickery of what's true or not when it comes to love. "When I see you, I'm blind to all colors." Such a beautiful line in this series that connotes how when one is truly in love, everything and everyone else fade into the background.

As for technicalities, I can honestly say the team for THE LEGEND OF SHEN LI spared no effort to make every scene surreal. Your imagination would surely be titillated to believe you are looking at scenes of either heaven, immortal realm or earth. The costumes are also on point and the characters are so well played. The main couple at first didn't appear to have much chemistry but would later on prove to be otherwise.

I actually pitied the 2nd ML Mofang, though he turned out to be among the clan's betrayers. Come to think of it, he was raised for the purpose of saving his father but when it entails the sacrifice of Shen Li he thwarted all attempts again and again and even gave up his life to save the one he loves. That despite the fact that Shen Li rejected his affections. Most men would take the chance for revenge but not him. That in itself means his love is greater than his ambitions.

On the other hand, I especially enjoyed Furong's character. A spoiled diviner at first but he grew up and came around at the right moment. He was a great help to our main couple and looking at him really is good for the heart. Haha.

Kidding aside, there are so many nuggets of wisdom you will come across in this series. How everyone is connected, how essential it is that all races cooperate to maintain peace among all realms, and how important it is to always be prepared for any eventualities. We will also be reminded not to dwell too much on what happened already because the past is only an illusion. Only the present and the future can be called life.

Also, a change in identity really changes a lot of things. This is true among all beings essentially. That is why even in manifesting techniques, we are taught to live in the identity we want and the rest shall follow.

The Legend of Shen Li is one fantasy series you should not miss. Before I forget, I do appreciate the extra episode they have thrown in that which focused on a side love story. That made up a unique ending definitely. So what are you waiting for?
