Here's another series that does not depend on a love story to carry its narrative. Instead, it revolves around a highly successful professional esports player who never gives up on his dream no matter the circumstance or the seeming failures he encountered. More than his influence on the fandom, this is also a story of friendships and loyalties and the good karma every sincere relationship brings.
It's awesome how many life lessons I got from this series. From being genuine and real to knowing your "why". Every decision and reaction should be for your why and not just to please other people.
This story also taught me to believe in the potential of people and how they can be the best if you challenge them and trust them enough. It also reminded me to believe in myself and always take responsibility for any mistake so growth can take place. A lot of scenes would make you realize that indeed, you can only fail when you give up. Failures? No big deal. Just start over.
Another lesson I would like to share is that our strength should not become a burden to us and to other people. It is there to help us attain our purpose, not hinder us from achieving it. If we cannot figure it out right away then a little more perseverance might be all it takes. Extraordinary people merely work hard in an ordinary way.
We have to gain mastery in the game of life. Any skill is meaningful only when it is used at the right time. Otherwise, it will become a flaw. Timing is the key. Oftentimes in life, we think that we are going downhill. Only to realize later that we are now standing at a higher place.
One more lesson that stayed with me was, that having too many options is like having no option at all. True, in the game Glory and in real life, there can't be too many options for us to choose from. If we have identified exactly what we want and why we need to get there, we would know the best opportunities presented by the universe. In the process, we should keep ourselves apart from the seemingly impossible. The only difference between fantasy and reality is whether you believe in it or not.
I suggest you bring a notebook and pen with you when you watch THE KING'S AVATAR so you can jot down every nugget of wisdom you encounter. There is so much more you can learn from this story aside from what I have shared already. It does not hurt that the main lead Ye Xiu is played by the ever handsome and talented Yang Yang. Girls and boys who are into esporst, promise you won't regret watching this.
