The male and female leads of SNOW EAGLE LORD are both exceptionally good looking and no one can deny that. I know you can predict the "but" after that sentence and that is because their supposed chemistry as the lead couple are simply non-existent. It's painful to watch even after so many episodes but there really are no sparks in there. Their sidekicks here may look ordinary compared to them, but they do actually look cute, together and individually.
As for the plot, it seems ordinary at best for a wuxia/ fantasy drama. The conflict centers on greed and the thirst for power. There are also a lot of lies and betrayals. Well, that added a bit of excitement as you would be thinking of who else would show next as truly a wolf under a sheep's clothing. The last few episodes seem hurried also with the final twist about a parallel universe and emperor's chainmail coming out of nowhere. Oh well, this is a fantasy series after all, so I think this turn of events can be expected. I do not understand though why one of the main characters and the second female lead has to die. It is very sad that her entire family has been wiped out in the story. She was not even spared and her love interest was left behind on his own. There is just no merit to her demise other than sacrifice but aren't all those dead heroes enough sacrificial lambs already in order to achieve their goal?
It is worth noting though that there are people who would always choose good over evil, and family over power. People might be tempted at times or on many occasions to take the wrong path for a taste of power but there is always some goodness in their hearts. There are also people who seem to have lost their way but they are actually just doing it to protect the people they care about. You can never really take things as they seem. People are too complex to be boxed in a certain state. It is prudent therefore to take things with a grain of salt. Otherwise, we might regret a lot of things in the end.
I love the idea of heroism in this series though. That heroism does not just mean prestige and power but more of responsibility. That being a real hero is being able to protect the weak and to provide equal regard and dignity towards all living things. For this alone and for the happy ending of our main leads, I would recommend this for you to check out.
