Ding Yu Xi is not the typical good looking actor that we always see on screen but he has a certain undeniable factor that endears him to viewers like me. So when I discovered this Moonlight drama of his with a story involving writers, editors and the entire publishing industry, I got hooked. As it happens, this is the industry I have wanted to be a part of at one time in my life.

Mind you though, I really do not relish watching Ding's female lead counterpart as she is more often than not, cringy to me (my sincere apologies to her fans). This is my personal opinion though and I'm sure, as she is quite popular, that others do find her amusing to say the least.

Back to the story. So it makes me feel good that a deep friendship between the first male and the second male leads are much evident in this series. Both writers, their bond is such that even their fathers are close to each other and help each other. The female lead also has lots of friendly, meaningful relationships with her colleagues that paved the way to help her establish a name for herself in the industry. The second male lead is actually the more handsome and her female counterpart might be vulnerable on the inside but totally cool on the outside. All four of them are so talented you would wish you could be a part of their characters' circle in this story.

Values of filial piety, integrity, determination, respect and love for your craft make up most of the storyline. It also showcased the sad fact that most writers do not really make it big but still continue to write for the love of writing. While there are people who would exploit their talents for monetary gains, there are also those who will never give up on them. They are the ones who would continue to light the path for writers to finish the race.

It's also endearing to note that people who seem cold on the surface are actually the ones who can love the most and will do everything they can to protect the ones they love.

If you enjoy watching romcoms, this could pass as one. Moonlight is just a tad too long for me at 36 episodes. On a scale of 1-10, I would recommend it as 7, considering the happy ending which I definitely relish. Enjoy watching!
