ANCIENT LOVE POETRY

I really feel frustrated when a supposedly powerful being is made to look gullible.

From the first moment the future queen of heaven appeared, I already knew she would be self-serving, ungrateful wench. The eyes are a dead giveaway. Still, the chief goddess brought her to the God realm and thus led to her best friend's demise and the subsequent issues in the heavenly realm. On the other side of the coin, this simply means she's an unusually good actress who can portray her character so well. The rise of the phoenix can also be a lesson for us to consider when having a dream. That no matter how insignificant we may seem to be, there is always a chance of improving our lot in life. We should not give up and continue to trudge even when challenges seem insurmountable.

The twist I appreciate in this story is that the demon God has a powerful love towards the lead female, Chief Goddess, that he can sacrifice the entire world and even himself for her and for a child not even his own. Yet, no one realized it for a long time so he was branded as the most evil one when in fact, the real evil is residing in the heavenly realm. This only emphasizes the need for non judgement because those who are not privy to the entire truth do not have the right to do so.

There had been a lot of tear-jerking scenes in this series but what made me shed bucketful of tears was when God Gu Jun sacrificed himself so Chief Goddess Shanggu shall be reincarnated again. From a love of a disciple to that of a father, he was always exceptional and true. It breaks my heart how ready he is to die for his master/ daughter in this lifetime.

Overall, this has been a story worthy of 49 episodes to binge-watch. The ending is definitely a good one especially for the main lead characters true gods Bai Jue and Shanggu. However, true God Tianqi should have a happy ending as well. For me, his sacrifice in the name of love is no less than that of Bai Jue and he should at least have Yuemi back again. Oh well, it's just the romantic in me speaking.

Anyway, do watch for yourself and enjoy all the magic and madness that surprisingly govern not just mortals but also of higher beings. In ANCIENT LOVE POETRY at least, we can imagine all we want including living in immortality and power.
